Sunshine grace and bread

There is a thing called grace that is beautiful beyond measure. When life is hard, challenge surrounds, and efforts are (or aren't) made - there is grace. It is impossible for me to function without it - and really why would I try? On this cool morning, after a few weeks of oppressive heat and humidity; I 'm reminded of the newness of each day. The bread of this moment is this newness and the knowledge of the grace that steps with me in the day ahead.

What is you bread today?

On my morning run, I was amazed to see a lovely sunrise, cool drips of leftover rain from the canopy of leafy trees, the a marble-like blue and white sky, and four deer with one stomping his left hoof at me as if I was interrupting his breakfast. Maybe I was, but all these things reminded me of the newness of each day and the grace available to swim, soak and live in. What a beautiful dawn of grace.

Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

To my surprise, and my delight
I saw sunrise, I saw sunlight
I am nothing in the dark
And the clouds burst to show daylight

Ooh and the sun will shine
Yeah on this heart of mine
Ooh and I realize
Who cannot live without
Ooh come apart without
It
On a hill top, on a sky-rise
Like a first born child
At full tilt, and in full flight
Defeat darkness, breaking daylight

Ooh and the sun will shine
Yeah on this heart of mine
Ooh and I realize
Who cannot live without
Ooh come apart without
Daylight

Slowly breaking through the daylight

Being out of touch gives some unexpected grace

Sorry for the day lateness of this host post, but I spent a few days out of town and where I was staying the internet access was spotty at best, so I opted on doing the post on Tuesday instead of struggling with it.

There are times that being out of touch can be a blessing and a frustration, and for the most part being disconnected from the communicative norms of life usually allows for some unexpected space and time to simply live life. In light of this space, I began wondering this week about how we handle to unexpected spaces that life sometimes throw our way. I don't know about you, but I like to plan things to do and places to go, and sometimes the world and circumstances don't cooperate with what I had laid out. Sometimes I handle these disruptions gracefully, and other times not so much.

In light of Sleeping with bread this week, what areas of unexpected space happened in your life this week? Were you able to find the bread to hold on to and the grace to let go of the not so gracefully handled ones?

Where did you experience grace this week? Where did you need to ask for it? Grace is a beautiful gift, if only we allow ourselves the space and time to receive it.
Below is a video of Mother Theresa accompanied by the song Grace by U2...
Please leave your blog links in the comments this week as I'm still working on figuring out Mr. Linky. Thanks for the grace!

Peace,
Lamont

Lyrics to the song Grace by U2

Grace, she takes the blame
She covers the shame
Removes the stain
It could be her name

Grace...
It's a name for a girl
It's also a thought that, changed the world
And when she walks on the street
You can hear the strings
Grace finds goodness in everything

Grace, she's got the walk
Not on a ramp or on chalk
She's got the time to talk
She travels outside of karma, karma
She travels outside... of karma

When she goes to work, you can hear the strings
Grace finds beauty in everything

Grace...
She carries a world on her hips
No champagne flute for her lips
No twirls or skips between her fingertips
She carries a pearl in perfect condition

What once was hurt
What once was friction
What left a mark
No longer stings...
Because Grace makes beauty
Out of ugly things

Grace finds beauty in everything
